This large carved boar's head is from France and dates to the late 1800's. It is made from solid walnut and finished to a warm dark color. The carving is highly detailed and quite life-like. Note that there are a couple of woodworm holes in the ear of the boar and a slight crack in the nose (see photos). The top of the head has a loop for easy hanging. Overall this carving is in good condition with minor chips and scratches consistent with its age. Dimensions: 10" tall, 7" wide and 4.75" deep. (3550)
