Antique French Solid Oak Fireplace Surround/Mantel Salvage with Carved Figures

This surround is from France and it dates to the late 1800's. It is built from solid oak and finished to a warm dark color. The carvings are quite deep and elaborate. Note that the top surface also has some slight cracks and dings from its many years of use (see photos). Overall it is in very good antique condition, straight, solid and with no significant damage. Dimensions: 65" wide, 53" tall and 15.75" deep (front to back). The fireplace opening is 40.25" tall by 42.5" wide. (1551 2)
