This impressive Renaissance revival altar/tabernacle is from France and it dates to the late 1800's. This is a high quality piece with excellent carvings. It is made from solid oak and the finish has been stripped off leaving the wood raw. The tabernacle in the center of the altar has a key and the lock works as it should. Note that there are several woodworm holes through out the piece and some significant woodworm damage to one of the supports in the back (see photos). The back of the piece also has new pine supports added for strength. Overall this piece is in very good antique condition with slight cracks and missing pieces of trim. Dimensions: 84" wide, 63" tall, and 18.5" deep. (462)
