This painting is a copy of Antony van Dyck's Lamentation over the Dead Christ. It was painted by E.B. Randel in Belgium in 1894. This is an excellent example of an artist studying another artist's work. Both the painting and frame are in very good antique condition. We believe that the frame is not original to the painting and was added much later. There are several minor chips in the frame, but nothing that affects the structure (see photos). Dimensions: 59" wide, 35.75" tall and 4" thick in its frame. The canvas size is 50" wide and 26.25" tall. (1263)
