This high quality woodcarving of St Nicholas is from France and it dates to the late 1800's. It is made from solid pine that has been hand painted. The carved detail in the figure is quite intricate and it has a life-like appearance. Note that there are several places where the paint has chipped (see photos). The staff also has a repair in the center and the ends of his fingers on one hand are missing (see photos). Despite these slight imperfections the statue is in good antique condition and ready for use. Dimensions: 12" tall and 5.5" wide and 4.25" deep. (2721 1)
