This gothic desk and chair are from France and date to the late 1800's. They are both made from solid chestnut and finished to a warm dark color. The top of the desk is in very good condition with one crack on the edge that has been filled (see photos). Note that there is also a crack in the center brace on the bottom that was glued (see photos). There is a key to the desk and all of the locks work. The chair also has matching carvings and is solid and strong. Overall this desk set is in very good antique condition and is structurally sound with only minor imperfections. Dimensions for the desk: 51.5" wide, 30.5" deep and 29.75" high. Dimensions for the chair: 39" tall, 26" wide and 22.75" deep. The seat height is 17.75" tall. (9141 2)
