Description

This nicely carved mahogany bed is in the French Rococo style of Louis XV.  It is from France and dates to the early 1900's.  The bed is constructed from solid mahogany with mahogany veneering on the flat surfaces.  The dark red coloring is outstanding and gives the bed a beautiful finish.  This is a high quality piece that is large enough to easily accommodate a queen size mattress/box spring.  It can be converted to queen size by using a metal frame that replaces the original wood rails.  Alternatively you can leave it as it is and have a custom mattress made for the bed.  We will do the queen conversion for you for an additional charge of $100.  Overall this bed is in very good antique condition with only minor chips and scratches and a small piece of veneer missing in the headboard (see photo).   Dimensions: The headboard is 64" tall, 62" wide, and 3.5" deep.  The footboard is 36" tall, 62" wide, and 3.5" deep.  The original mattress opening is 55" X 78".  (1221)
