Description

This cabinet mounted book press dates to the late 1800's.  It is made from solid oak and constructed with excellent craftsmanship.  It has a set of 6 removable press plates (see photos).  The cabinet is built with wooden dowels and tongue and groove construction.  The screw on the press has some broken threads and a crack in the base but still operates smoothly.  There are also a few old woodworm holes in the screw.  The side panels have several cracks from the wood shrinking over time (see photos).  Overall this piece is in very good antique condition with minor nicks and scratches and the damage described above.  Dimensions: 64" high, 28" wide and 22" deep.  (4293)
