French Antique Sculpture Bronzed Spelter with Glass Bowl/ Serving Dish
This spelter sculpture of a woman holding up a glass bowl is from France and dates to the early 1900's. We do not believe that this was the original configuration of this piece. It appears that this was a lamp at some point and it has been converted to a serving dish. The sculpture is made from spelter and the glass would have been the shade for the lamp. The base is marble, however we do not believe that it is original to the piece either. Note the newer threaded rod that that has been added to the base (see photos). Even though this is a repurposed item the piece is still quite lovely and is in excellent condition with only a finger missing on the woman (see photo). Dimensions: 15" tall, 10" in diameter. (3124)
