This pair of prayer rails is from France and dates to the late 1800's. They are made from solid oak with linen fold carvings finished to a warm dark color. The construction of the rails is very sturdy and very well done. Note that there are several nail holes in the tops of the rails where a pad once was (see photos). There is also some woodworm damage towards the bottom of the rail and a piece on the base of the rail that has been replaced (see photos). Overall these rails are in good antique condition and ready to be used again. Dimensions for each: 79" long, 35.25" high and 8" deep. (1656)
