This antique Gothic throne chair/bench is from France and it dates to the late 1700's. This is a high quality piece with excellent fit and finish. It is made from solid oak and finished to a warm dark color. The carving in the center is of St James the Great, the patron saint of pilgrims. Note that there are several woodworm holes throughout the piece and minor cracks (see photos). The seat lifts up for extra storage and is quite sturdy (see photos). Overall this bench is in very good antique condition with minor imperfections consistent with its age. Dimensions: 89.25" tall, 32.25" wide and 24.25" deep (front to back). The seat is 25.25" high.
